SCGIS 2017 Scholar Finalist Announcement

NZ GIS in Conservation is very pleased to announce that Aaria Dobson-Waitere has been awarded a US Society for Conservation GIS Scholarship this year. She will attend the Esri User Conference and SCGIS annual conference in California and also take a specialised three week GIS course organised especially for recipients.

The Scholarship Program currently targets its support primarily at the regions where SCGIS international chapters and informal conservation GIS communities affiliated with SCGIS are growing or emerging, in an effort to promote further growth of these chapters and communities. Keep an eye out for the 2018 Scholarship announcement. Read more about the SCGIS International Scholarship Programme.

International Scholarship Program is designed to allow conservation GIS practitioners to attend the Esri User Conference and SCGIS Annual Conference held in California every summer and to allow them to take specialised three-week GIS courses organised for the scholarship recipients before the conferences.  These courses are provided jointly by SCGIS, Juniper GIS, Esri, UC Davis Information Center for the Environment, and UC Berkeley Blue Oak Ranch Reserve.

Congratulations Aaria!
